Laptop Cooler Pad

If you own a laptop, then you know that after an hour or two of use, it starts to get hot and uncomfortable to put on your lap, and sometimes even just to work on. Not to mention, overheating can cause problems with the laptop’s machinery. But you bought the laptop to use, not to leave around just sitting there. So how do you fix this problem of overheating? Simple, just buy a laptop cooler pad.

You might be sitting there wondering what a laptop cooler pad is; well I’m here to explain that to you. A laptop cooler pad is basically what it sounds like. It is a pad that you place below the laptop in order to cool its inner mechanisms and keep it working at 100% without busting a circuit.

They are also known as chill mats or laptop cooling pads. There are different kinds of laptop cooler pads, so you might not know which one to choose. So here is an overview of each type.

Laptop Cooling Pads

1.   USB Port Laptop Cooling Pads

This kind of laptop cooler pad is connected to your laptop’s USB port and then placed below your laptop for support. It makes use of the laptop’s power through the USB port to supply two or more fans with power to help cool your laptop.

This helps lower the temperature to a comfortable level. This is still the most common type of laptop cooler pad, and you can find it for affordable prices both online and in bricks and mortar stores.

The good thing about USB port laptop cooler pads is that they not only make your laptop cooler, but they can come with other features as well. For example, advanced ones even come with card readers for your SD cards, memory sticks, and more.

Others come with extra USB ports so you can plug in other gadgets like your cellular phone, gaming console, or camera. You can also adjust the fan speed manually or get one that adjusts automatically. Also, they don’t use a lot of energy, so they don’t make your laptop any warmer.

2.   HeatShift Technology Laptop Cooler Pads

HeatShift Technology is a kind of cooler that does not use fans. Rather, it uses crystalline substances to draw the heat out from below the computer. These are very useful, but not as common and sometimes more costly than USB port laptop cooler pads. They have been proven to lower the temperature by at more than nine degrees Fahrenheit. If you can spare the expense, then this is a type of laptop cooler pad that you should consider.

3.   Free Air Angled Laptop Cooling Pads

This type of laptop cooler pad does not use any power or any special technology to work. What it does to cool your laptop is suspending it in an angle so that the air can pass below it and through the mechanisms. This way, the heat is lowered by up to twenty percent, and it is a simple process. If you’d like a no fuss cooler pad then this is the type for you. It is also very inexpensive, since it doesn’t require a lot of work to make or take care of.

So now you know what laptop cooler pads are, and what kinds are available to you. Make sure to find a good one so you and your laptop can sit back and relax without having to worry. We specifically discuss the Logitech pad, and Kinamax pad on the next pages.
